Music Influences

We took great influence from the various movies and media sources we researched before we planned our film, namely the likes of Donnie Darko, A Scanner Darkly and The Fountain. These all include classical or orchestral pieces and their instrumental raw sound is one of the defining characteristics of the Sci-fi genre as it is able to generate a unique emotive response from the target audience. Although in other movies such as The Fifth Element and such all include varying ranges of music, some which correlate with the codes and conventions of the Sci-Fi genre, these include: Opera/vocal pieces, trance or electronic sounding pieces and so on.
